I just found out my wife bought me tickets for the Georgia game.  While thats awesome I was looking at the section 39 that its in the vistors area.  I was wondering has anyone sat in the visitors section and is it really bad?

Best advice is to cheer on your team and not worry about those around you (considering the location).  This theory has worked well for me in the past.  Especially on road trips where you buy a stray ticket and end up surrounded by the opposing teams fans.

Are you sure it is in the visitor section?  It isn't always.  As far as end zone seats go, it is ideal to be on the North end since you have the option to watch the play on the field from the front/behind and see the gaps/holes as a play develops or the profile of the play live on the big screen (press box view).  Then you can watch the replay of the play again on the big screen too without having to turn around like in the South end zone.  Although with the speed of the HUNH offense, sometimes you don't see the replay.  Just my thoughts.  War Eagle!

Just a heads up. I've been to almost every home game since I was born ('83). 2 games stand out as being almost ruined by drunk IDIOTS. Both involved UGA fans. They are typically not that bad the other 364 days of the year, but some of them get WAY out of hand inside JHS. Hell the water cannons were only used once, on UGA fans. Imagine that! But I hope you enjoy the game. It's gonna be a big one. One of many streaks that end this year. War Eagle!

Sounds like a good sample size to make a judgment on.

39 isn't visitors. 37,36,35 are the main visitor sections with a few visitors sprinkled into 113-110 in the Upper Deck.

SW is correct. 39 is not visitors. End zone w/ good view of jumbotron. Row 15-15 is best...

not nearly as bad since they instituted the texting system. you used to have to get up and walk to find security to escort the unruly drunken ugay fans out. now you send a text and dont even miss a play!  :tdau:

I have a "follow-up/related" question -

I am going to bring my family to a game for the first time this year - sounds like the endzone, around section 39 is a great place to sit (I am bringing 8 total so budget is a bit of a concern) while not spending an arm and a leg.

Any other sections I should look for? I definitely want a good view of the Jumbotron - it will be one of the "lesser" games (probably UT Chat) so will sun be an issue at all from that end zone since it will be during the day?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can give me!

The only experience I have with UGA v AU at Auburn was sitting near the Red Coat band and boy were they loud as all hell.  We had endzone seats and they were about 7 sections away.  They are really loud and overpowering.  If one thing besides losing that day, my head hurt from listening to their band.

I sit in section 39, there are not many opponent fans at all.

Thanks 44 - some were talking about rows - how high is too high? The concensus seems to be above row 15 at least.

n2hoops:  Really just about any seat other than the south end zone (or southwest corner) has a good view of the jumbotron.  I sat in section 39 at the Clemson game and although it is not IN the visitor's section, it is close.  Let's just say it was loud in the first half.  But it was a great view of the field and the jumbotron.  I suspect that it would be a great seat at one of the lesser games (LAMO, UTCHATT) with a smaller crowd to contend with, so they would be further away and probably don't have a band.  Take a look at the seating chart on line and you'll see Sections 40 & 41 are probably the best seats in the north end zone.  As far as the sun, if it's a day game, bring your sunscreen because you'll be in the sun.  There are only a relative handfull of seats that would be out of the sun during a day game.  If it is a morning game, I'd probably go for the East side lower level, top few rows.  If it is an afternoon game, I'd go for the high rows on the West lower level.  I hope that helps.  Good luck and War Eagle!

I paid $20 for a ticket to the USCe game Saturday one hour before kickoff. They were on eBay & Craigslist for $100 during the week. Do not but tickets before the UT-Chattanooga game. Wait until after Tiger Walk and you will get tickets for no more than $20 a piece. JMO :)

Never sat in the visitor section,  but I did sit right smack the middle of the home team section in Knoxville back in 1987 or so.  (this story is too long to add HOW I got a ticket alone in the UT section.)  .....

I was out numbered THOUSANDS to ONE.  There were 4-5 AU fans sprinkled over 6 or more sections.  I think.  I never really saw them.  I could only hear them cheering when I was cheering.

When we are winning it is AUSOME!!  When we are losing it is miserable.   The rollercoaster ride of emotions is heightened 10 fold.  We tied the game with UT at the game I mentioned above   The melodramatic ending was heightened also.   It was the most bizarre atmosphere in post game history.  NO ONE was saying anything.  Neither team knew what to feel.  There were no words to describe what we all felt.   100,000 people walking out of a stadium,  and it was quiet enough to have a conversation with someone , in a crowd, 100 feet away without raising your voice.  Nothing.  no sound no music,  just silence.

At no point during the game did I feel threatened.   Even when UT made a play and the fans around me all cheered AT ME.   (We are talking eye contact  and screaming here)  It didn't take long,  and I could do my own cheering,  and I would cheer at the  UT fans.   LOL

Too many good people still around at all the schools to let someone jump you if you are not  being a jerk.

WDE  enjoy it.
