Should terrorists attack the US again, will America as a whole have a spine or pull a Spain?

Like Stoic said we need to have faith that most if not all US voters would have spine.

But I have to think if the situation were similar with the timing as the one in Spain, there would be many who would vote the same way they did in Spain.
