Some people still insist that he Iraqi war was about oil not WMDs. Turns out this is right, but not like they think. In a new book, "The French Betrayal of America", Kenneth Timmerman writes (based on documents he has actual copies of) that both France and Russia had secret contracts with Sadaam to get billions of dollars of free oil in exchange for their support in the UN to lift sanctions. In addition both Chiraq and Putin benefitted personnally form this, making huge amounts of money.

Last night, in an interview on Fox News, Madelein Albright (Sec. Of State under Clinton) said she knew of this. She also said she tought there were WMDs in Iraq before we went to war and agreed they had probably been moved elsewhere.
