Streisand Attacks Bush on Marriage Amendment

Streisand spoke out against the amendment while receiving the Human Rights Campaign's Humanitarian Award on Saturday.

"The law cannot dictate matters of the heart. When two people form a deep bond, there is usually a soul connection, and the soul has no gender," she said. "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are fundamental rights in this country. Happiness can be many things - a good meal, a good friend, a warm puppy, and certainly...love. How can anyone legislate who you can love? That is a human right, the right to love and be loved."

Hmmmmm...Wasn't this debated recently on this board?

Let's see now, Madonna endorses Clark. Clark is out. So Streisand falls back to the only thing the dems have: Attack Bush! I hate Bush! Attack Bush! I hate Bush!

John Kerry is truly glad that another over the hill washed up millionaire singer from Hollywood didn't endorse him.

This is censorship, pure and simple. Well, maybe not all that pure. Censorship never is. Due to their experience with the restrictive English government, the framers of our constitution specifically included a ban on prior restraint in the First Amendment, which is an attempt to stop information from getting out there before the public has a chance to see it at all - exactly what is going on in this case.

hmmmmmmmm...

Why stop there, Babs? Here's an even more "enlightened" and inclusive way to think:

"The law cannot dictate matters of the heart. When several people form a deep bond with each other, there is usually a soul connection, and the soul has no gender nor any limits to how many it can love" she said. "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are fundamental rights in this country. Happiness can be many things - a good meal, a good friend, a warm puppy, and certainly...love. How can anyone legislate who you can love...or how many you can love at once? That is a human right, the right to love and be loved."
