Recommended Posts

About a week ago the robocoach web site had an article about the softball "budgets" of different teams for 2023. rather than an true budget it was said to be comprised of things like salaries, travel food and so forth. Auburn was in the top 10. The top 15 listed below. Oklahoma $6.58M Florida State $5.37M Tennessee $4.10M Washington $3.97M Texas A&M $3.94M Alabama $3.79M Auburn $3.50M Oklahoma State $3.48M Texas $3.42M Ole Miss $3.39M LSU $3.32M Florida $3.18M Arkansas $3.18M Arizona $2.99M Oregon $2.89M Further down the thread there was an interesting article and graphic about budgets and attendance. If interested go to robocoach site and look for "softball budgets" topic.

Absolutely wild considering we have been scraping the bottom of the SEC barrel the last 7 years. Cheers to the Malveaux’s and hoping the break the cycle!

Actually, we finished 3d in the SEC in 2023, didn't we?

Actually, we are the only team in the SEC that hasn’t made it to supers in the last 7 years. I may be a “troll” to y’all, but I’m not delusional.

maybe a bit off topic but:

Fresh off a fourth straight national title, the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents approved a significant raise for Head Coach Patty Gasso and her assistants Jennifer Rocha and J.T. Gasso.

According to Eric Bailey of the Tulsa World (subscription required), Gasso's salary for 2024-2025 will be increased to $1.9 million, and next year will increase to $2 million in 2025-2026. According to Colton Sulley of The Oklahoman, the salary has an average annual value of $2 million per year and runs through 2028. Gasso's last raise came in 2022, a salary bump that paid her $1.775 million a year.

Rocha and J.T. Gasso will see their salaries increase to $300,000 a year per Bailey.

The Sooners keep their corps coaching staff intact as they look to build off of their historic run over the last four years.
