Hell, Trump had months of lead time on the Covid pandemic.  Lots of good that did.

I don’t know about all that but I’m sure the minute after he said it his staff thought wtf. Most voters did too. 
 

A narrative has been set since the debate (actually before) and he is not helping to erase it.
