It is fair to say maga screams in terror about big controlling gov  - but seems to want an even bigger controlling gov - just one that … agrees with them.  Which is Reaganism completely upside down.

How is it Reaganism upside down?  It is Reaganism continued.

Yes this makes my point perfectly.  Complaining about big government while growing government is Reaganism.

Reagan was far from perfect. But having a major hand in the collapse of the Soviet Union, redefining the role of gov for a generation, reinvigorating American confidence and optimism, ect.

His last 2 years his mental acuity was clearly failing and he was never a captain of the chess team type. But an idiot and a baby killer? We see things very very differently.

Ok, it’s a Fri and this is starting to hurt my head so I’m bailing. We disagree. Ps yes the cost of expanding the military to force the Soviet Union to match (and couldn’t) was huge - but longer term had huge savings. I’m talking the role of gov

Why did you agree with 59 in Magas not wanting blacks to vote and women to not have careers? You should have a headache after pandering to their sensationalism. You are better and know better Nat’l. No to agree with these folks all the time.

Two examples -  departments of education and energy grew under Reagan, but he ran on abolishing them.

Reagan is textbook “government is bad” while also growing government.

But to be fair MAGA is very different than Reagan in one way… Russia.  Reagan called Russia the evil empire.  Not so much anymore from MAGA.

I was trying to avoid getting sidetracked - and friggin got sidetracked anyway on Reagan somehow.

Ultimately on this site there are basically 2 sides.

Maga - which basically is a Christian theocracy movement

Progressive - which basically is a European socialism/ secularism movement

Since I completely disagree with both (and I think most Americans do) - I’m destined to annoy everyone.

But I think you ultimately agree with my point.  Republican theocracy needs to hurry up and die, so it can be replaced with a party that is actually small government conservatism.

Otherwise we have two parties of big government.

Again - imo besides both consisting  of invertebrates - Reaganism and maga have virtually nothing in common

Respectfully - when the 2 growing faces of each party are AOC and mtg - both need a major political enema.  Literally a reboot. Me supporting Biden is only because I find him … less destructive.

To you point about both parties being about big gov - yes we agree.

Ironic how Reagan gets so much credit for the demise of the Soviet Union while Trump - and MAGA Republicans - want to stop aiding Ukraine.

The Ukraine war has been a disaster for Putin and Russia. They are in major, long term, economic and social decline as a result. Trump would snatch defeat of Russia from the jaws of victory.

So you are saying that defending anything relating to Christianity throws one in the Maga labeled group and makes them a theocrat?

Disappointing from you Nat’l.

That’s fair.  So correct me - you don’t think the vast majority of who posts is either maga or progressives (even if they won’t admit it)? I’m happy to be wrong.

We have the progressives. When you disagree with them you are considered full blown Maga. Think Tex is fairly center on things that really matter. Studies issues through at least.

Don’t know what you would call Fiddy.

https://cw39.com/cw39/trump-on-new-louisiana-law-i-love-the-ten-commandments/

I LOVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND MANY OTHER PLACES, FOR THAT MATTER,” Trump wrote this week on his online platform Truth Social. “READ IT — HOW CAN WE, AS A NATION, GO WRONG??? THIS MAY BE, IN FACT, THE FIRST MAJOR STEP IN THE REVIVAL OF RELIGION, WHICH IS DESPERATELY NEEDED, IN OUR COUNTRY.”

President Biden, who is locked in a contentious reelection battle with Republican Trump, also hasn’t publicly addressed the issue.

He's pandering Salty.  Sort of like with the Trump bible.

Surely you know that?
