You are correct when it comes to appointing Judges neither party has taken high ground. Republicans complained when Roe/Wade and said was political, then Democrats complained when overturned complaining it was political. 

Both were correct both decisions were because who had been appointed to Supreme Court.

I think America should stop pretending that the Supreme Court isn't a biased political entity. 

It needs to have guardrails and forced ethical standards placed upon it like every other government and political entity should have. The supreme Court has no incentive to police itself or punish itself for wrongdoings or ethical lapses....and thus it doesn't.
