apologies, friends — Ms. Spouse and I have an early-morning thing we need to attend to (don’t worry, it’s all good), and so I don’t have time to write my usual thousand-plus words today. let me leave you with a few quick hits.

conservatives are super pissed off at Joe Biden for having the temerity to show up and speechify in France this week.

here’s whiny grievance-baby Erick Erickson to explain why Republicans diapers are full.

“I don’t think it was appropriate for Biden to turn the remembrance of D-Day into a political attack on his opponent.”

**** straight off, Erick Son of Erick — because here’s the thing: Joe Biden didn’t say one word about “his opponent” during his D-Day speech. in fact, he never mentioned convicted felon Donald Trump at all.

what Biden did say was that all of us need to defend democracy against tyranny in order to honor the sacrifices made on D-Day.

Now, we have to ask ourselves: Will we stand against tyranny, against evil, against crushing brutality of the iron fist?

Will we stand for freedom? Will we defend democracy?

pro tip: if you interpret a basic call to fight fascism as a direct attack on Dear Convicted Leader, guess what: you’re on the wrong ******* side.

make better life choices, crybabies.

today, Joe Biden is visiting the the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Belleau, Aisne, France. Belleau is the site of the Battle of Belleau Wood — and 1,800 U.S. Marines are buried in the cemetery.

Aisne-Marne was in the news four years ago when Little Donny Convict famously blew off a commemoration of fallen heroes. Donny was a no-show because there was a light drizzle, and he didn’t want that ******-up rat’s nest of cotton candy bull**** he calls hair to get wet. instead, he spent the day rage-tweeting from his hotel room.

Donny told his then-chief of staff John Kelly, “why should I go to that cemetery? it’s filled with losers.” **** you, Donald Trump.

if it rains today at Aisne-Marne, will Joe blow it off?

something tells me he won’t.

being a Republican in good standing means believing that black people had it way better back in the good old days.

was hundreds of years of slavery bad? **** no! what could be better than free room and board, and the chance to learn a trade?

Byron Donalds has joined this chorus of gaslighting shit****s. he’s been making the rounds, claiming that black people had it much better during the Jim Crow era — that magical time when black men were routinely arrested for quote-unquote “vagrancy” and sent off to prison work-farms, or lynched for the crime of looking the wrong way at a white person. yeah, what a super ******* awesome time to be alive.

as a black man in America, Donalds should know better than to peddle this revisionist bull****. MSNBC host Joy Reid is having none of it, and she shut that s*** right down.

Joe Reid: “last question. we’re out of time but I’m going to give you one more question. during jim Crow, could your family have existed? you are in an interracial marriage — your wife is a white conservative activist. could your family at all have existed during Jim Crow?”
Byron Donalds: “no it could not, Joy, and we all know that, but that’s why I’m blessed to live in America today, as opposed to America during that time, but we cannot ignore the realities of not having fathers in homes. that is important for black people today, and all people today.”
Reid: “we are out of time. what I’m grateful for is that we do not live in the Jim Crow era, and fathers do not face lynching.”
Donalds: “so do I.”
Reid: “perhaps don’t bring up Jim Crow when you’re trying to make that example.”

in****ingdeed.

Although not confirmed, the prevailing thought is Biden lost his sh*t.
