AUBURN, Ala. – Ten of Auburn Athletics' 19 teams posted perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate scores for the 2022-23 scoring period, according to NCAA APR scores released Tuesday.

"These exceptional APR results exemplify the commitment Auburn student-athletes demonstrate daily in the classroom and in competition," athletics director John Cohen said. "We commend them for their diligence and salute their families for instilling the value of education. Auburn's coaches and academic support staff play a vital role in helping student-athletes balance the demands of SEC athletics with Auburn University's rigorous academics."

Auburn teams earning single-year APRs of 1,000 were baseball, men's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, women's golf, softball, soccer, women's tennis, volleyball and equestrian.

Five Auburn teams earned Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards for posting 1,000 APR scores in each of the past four years: men's cross country, women's golf, soccer, women's tennis and volleyball.

Men's basketball earned a 1,000 APR score for the sixth consecutive year. The NCAA's APR evaluation observed a one-year hiatus in 2021 because of the pandemic.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

From the NCAA: Each academic year, every Division I sports team calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
The minimum APR academic standard for each team is 930. Typically, teams that scored below the benchmark would have to face penalties that encourage an emphasis and prioritization on academics.
A full list of APRs for each team can be accessed by using the APR searchable database.
