Charles Barkley rips WNBA vets, women in Caitlin Clark rant: ‘Y’all petty, man’

Charles Barkley is the latest to defend WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who is still looking for her first professional win.

The former NBA great and TNT analyst went on a rant Wednesday, defending the Indiana Fever star. In the process was agreeing with LeBron James.

“You women out there: Y’all petty, man,” Barkley said prior to the game between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Twins. “LeBron, man, you’re 100 percent right on all these girls hating on Caitlin Clark. Y’all petty, girls. I expect men to be petty because we’re the most insecure group in the world.

“Y’all should be thanking that girl for getting y’all ass private charters and all the money and visibility she bringing to the WNBA. Don’t be petty like dudes. Listen, what she’s accomplished, give her her flowers. Stop being petty, all you women out there.

“She got all your ass these charters. She’s bringing all this money to the table, but you all being petty like dudes. LeBron, you 100 percent right. Yo, girls, stop being petty.

“Caitlin Clark, thank you for bringing all that money and shine to the WNBA.”

Clark was selected by the Fever with the No. 1 pick of the 2024 WNBA draft after a historic collegiate career at Iowa.

Barkley’s comments come after WNBA players have complained that Clark is being hailed as the one who is saving women’s basketball.

James, during an appearance on “Mind the Game” with J.J. Redick, pointed to Clark’s ability to bring visibility and money to the league.

“The one thing that I love that she’s bringing to her sport: more people want to watch,” he said. “More people want to tune in. I saw, for the first time, they had a chartered plane. For the first time in their league history, they flew private. That should be celebrated in its own right.

“That should be celebrated, and it’s because of Caitlin Clark. Don’t get it twisted. Don’t get it [bleeped] up. Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things are going to happen for the WNBA.”

Lol. No one has an issue with her being white. Do you see them "hating" on Kelsey Plum or Cameron Brink? Lol. Delusional. However, when you have a job and someone keeps talking about the supposed next best thing as if they are just going to come in and be a phenom, you get tired of hearing about it. Yeah they will benefit but CC still has to play games and win. She's struggled some and will continue until she gets acclimated. People would say stupid things like she could play in the NBA. Like, seriously? 😂 Yeah, she will bring attention for sure and that's great for the WNBA but people need to cool it with unrealistic expectations for her. She's not even the best rookie at this point. Maybe she will be but thats to be determined.
