TigerOne 1,264
UConn ready to put the finish on Purdue. Auburn would not have fared well against either but good examples to study.

GTNupe11 2,114
This is how we'd put teams away at Home...they've done it to every single team. That's wild. I think that's how it was last year too, wasn't it?

AURex 2,262
UConn showed out with play from both inside and outside. Unfortunately for Purdue, Edey had no help from anyone else on the team. Or was it that UConn decided to take away everyone else? Whatever, it wasn't like Clingen out-dueled Edey. It was just a better all-around team that beat Purdue. SLAG-91 1,612
UConn has now caught UNC in national titles, all of them in the last 25 years.Ā They only trail Kentucky and UCLA all-time.Ā 6-0 in title games. 12 straight double-digit wins in the NCAAs. They are impressive, and it ain't bragging if you can back it up. This tournament was kind of the anti-March Madness...a great run to the Final Four by NC State, but not much in the way of late-game dramatics.

Dual-Threat Rigby 9,091
The only way we could've won in that hypothetical S16 matchup that obv never happened is if we shot the dickens out the ball. The problem is that UConn is just transcendent at running shooters off of the 3 point line and face guarding perimeter players. Once Bama stopped making virtually every 3 PTer after halftime, their non-Sears guards were in a box. And even Sears had to go through a lot to get any shots off. This version of us liked to play inside out and really avoid making our ball handlers have to read a defense much, and they just would've been the perfect defense.Ā I am thankful for Aden and Tre's confidence going forward that they didn't have to attempt to dribble against Castle and Newton for a gameĀ

WillMunny 1,589
Zach Edey: phenomenal college player, 2-time player of the year, amazing last night (37 points), and future G-League star. Unfortunately for him, his game does not translate well to the NBA.Ā But he was sure fun to watch in college.Ā Hope he got a good degree.

Steven Adams makes a good living doing basically the same thing and there are a few others as well.Ā I'm not saying any NBA offense is going to start with or run through him and no one is going to confuse him with Embiid or AD.Ā However, there is a place for him in the NBA if he continues to work.
