And I think Salter is the perfect QB for Hugh to bring in. He’s got the talent and most importantly he knows Hugh, knows the system, and can plug right in. I think everyone probably knows that he’s coming. He probably needed to graduate first, because of the transfer credit stuff. Deuce Hoping Walker is good enough to pass Hank next year, but otherwise, I agree 100%. I'm hoping Salter has a year remaining and becomes a plug and play piece that moves the needle next year. And at this point, I think both JuJu and Deuce make our room much better and likely compete for a starting job in year 2, so let's get one of them in before the UGa game. The kid has some really great QB intangibles. Trent Dilfer agrees. The only QB I see coming in and being THE guy from day 1 is Salter right now, because he’s run Hugh’s system. From what I’ve gatherer piecing together info from people in the know, Hugh had a decision to make with his QB recruit, there was a sh*t or get off the pot conversation had with Deuce, Deuce agreed to sh*t, and here we are. Im sure there’s more nuance to it……..but not much. If it’s true and Hugh had the leverage here….still….then I have to admit that’s either impressive work by Hugh, or Auburn is about to make a QB recruit rich af and both kids wanted the money.
