Old 10-member SEC 5-1 schedule rotation

Ok, I’m usually up to speed on Auburn/ SEC football history, but someone help me on this.

The Auburn/Vandy series got me curious as to how they went from 1956 to 1977 without ever playing each other.  They began rotating home/home in 1978, and played in that scenario (along with LSU, Ole Miss and Kentucky) up until the Divisional structure in 1992.

Does anyone recall what precise season they began the 5 permanent/4 rotating schedule with the old 10-member conference?  It may have been ‘78 or a couple of years prior, just can’t find anything on it.

UPDATE: It was 1974, started rotating these 4 every 2 years until 1992:

Kentucky (74-75)

Ole Miss (76-77)

Vandy ((78-79)

LSU (80/81)

If it were truly up to me, we'd kick out all non-founding members and have a nice big round robin.
