Bruce "sells" Auburn better than any coach that's been employed here, IMO. 

He's a good coach, he's a damn good salesman.  The AU fan base with our downhome, salt of the earth, "Family" ideals buy what he's selling.

Even if AU gets Deuce, by most accounts he is 2 or 3 yrs from being ready to play. Portal QB is more important for the next 2 yrs IMO. Hugh can't wait for WW or Deuce to develop. He has already squandered 2 years.

Explain how the first year was wasted. The first year he signed Walker White and Peyton Thorne to a QB room that was at zero.

My opinion: the dreadful preparation and game planning that got us beat by Cal in game two of the season did not improve for the NMSU debacle late season or the bowl debacle at the end of the season. No improvement. None.

I agree. Nothing has been accomplished or improved. That freaking dinosaur we have for a QB coach should've been gone last year. There's a reason he has to go to the CFL to find work whenever Hugh isn't coaching a team. And everytime Hugh says "Kent Austin is the best QB developer in the country" it makes me truly question Hugh's evaluating and decision making.

I just checked Kent Austin's salary here at Auburn. As an analyst last year, he made $250,000. He was promoted to QB coach this season and got a $150,000 raise, making $400,000 this season. The way his contract is structured he will get a $200,000 raise Feb. 1st, 2025 to bring his annual salary to $600,000 for 2025. Then on Feb. 1st, 2026 he will get a $350,000 raise to bring his annual salary to $950,000 in 2026. That's alot of cash for a damn QB coach that isn't producing.

Freeze QB evaluation is absolutely worthy of being criticized.  I said on another post that this alone adds 2 more years to this rebuild.  To put all his trust in PT by just saying he needs more weapons around him is mind boggling. It wastes another year and confirms what he should have done last yr and get A portal QB.

That's the point . Mis evaluation for bringing in PT to AU to begin with. Then hitches his wagon to him this year saying he will be better with better WR play. 2 mis evaluations that cost us this year as well as last year.
