2024 Stat Tracker

So y’all should know by now I like tracking Auburn’s players on the all-time leader board. This will be updated after every game. What I always wonder is should I count a players stats from a different school or should guys like Thorne start at zero? I think there’s a case to be made for both. Let me know what you think.

For this first post only I’ll show both!

Passing Leaders:

Robby Ashford- 24th in completions (123), 24th in passing attempts (250), has a 49.2% completion rate, 24th in passing yards (1613), and 33rd in passing touchdowns (7). Additionally, he has run the ball 152 times for 710 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns

Holden Geriner - 84th in completions (2), 87th in passing attempts (3), has a 66.7% completion rate, 104th in passing yards (8), and hasn’t thrown a touchdown yet. Additionally, he has two rushing attempts for -17 yards.

Payton Thorne (based on Mich St numbers) - 5th in completions (525), 5th in passing attempts (861), 61% completion rate, 6th in passing yards (6,493), and 2nd in passing touchdowns (49). Additionally, he has 163 rushing attempts for 270 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. I’ll post running back at lunch.

Me personally, I like both because of the transfer lallapalooza. It’s nice to know how good of a player we’re getting.

Thanks, Zeek - thats a lot of work but of course numbers are an interesting part of the game. I'm a gonna chuckle though when no-numbers Geriner starts second half of the season, after LSU game (he ducks).

Thanks Zeek! This is awesome! I kind of like seeing it both ways in terms of transfers. Obviously, only his AU numbers should count for AU record books, but it's also interesting and kind of crazy that he'd already be 2nd all time in passing touchdowns if all his numbers were with AU.

It's also crazy that Geriner already doubled his completions from last year. I thought he had more than 2 last year.

I am always surprised by the lack of receiving production outside of the transfer portal.

A little disappointed we didn’t see Fairweather get a target but not a lot of passing.

Same on both counts. Hopefully Rivaldo and some of the new guys have decent years and soon Perry can light it up and be the beginning of a new future at AU where we score lots through the air.

I thought Thorne needed 30 attempts minimum to get work with the new receivers in game action. I feel sure Freeze will open it up but AUs headed to  a stadium cross country with more questions than answers in the passing game.

Not a lot of offense to change rankings but here is what we have after Cal:

Robby Ashford - still 24th in completions (126), still 24th in passing attempts (259), still 24th in passing yards (1616), and 33rd in passing touchdowns (7)

Payton Thorne - 57th in completions (up 9 spots), 60th in attempts (up 7 spots), 46th in passing touchdowns (up 22 spots)
