The 2021-22 president of the Football Writers Association of America and ESPN reporter Heather Dinich called out the Auburn football wide receiver room via Twitter following an appearance as credentialed media on the Plains.

. @AuburnFootball fans you might need some, um, patience with your WRs …

“Auburn football fans, you might need some, um, patience with your WRs …” was the message just in case the tweet is deleted. The official Auburn football Twitter account was tagged.

This drew a response from several Auburn football wideouts who likely now view this tweet as bulletin board material moving forward…

Auburn football fans unhappy at ESPN reporter’s shot at WR room

Given the struggles of the Tigers’ receiving room in 2022, it could take time in Hugh Freeze and Philip Montgomery’s offense for everyone to be up to speed. Auburn football fans were still unhappy Dinich, an Indiana graduate, would take a shot at the WR room:

I hope you enjoyed your visit lol I highly doubt they’ll let you back in after this post https://t.co/phJOpFr21C

They give her all access and she comes back with a dog on a whole ass position group and TAGS THE OFFICIAL PROGRAM TWITTER ACCOUNT

Sheesh, good luck getting back on campus https://t.co/dTXThZxxdU

Seems like a weird thing to tweet after the team gives you an all access pass for a day during a busy spring football season. Even if that was your main takeaway from the whole experience- tagging the main account to drag their players? Really? https://t.co/pQ25TOxGLd

I mean, it’s spring practice under a new coach and system so I’m not sure anyone is expecting like anything other than a team during spring practice under a new coach and system. https://t.co/TfJId7ZPBu

Auburn Twitter will always show out in droves when the national media has such piping hot takes. It remains to be seen how the Tigers’ receivers respond to this callout.
