Texas senior Republican Senator says you’re wrong:

  • Supports border communities in Texas that absorb the costs from the surge of illegal immigration by directing $800 million to the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) to compensate these communities.
  • Provides funding for Border Patrol, including an increase of 300 new agents.
  • Enhances security at ports of entry by providing $70 million for advanced security screen technology to help crack down on illegal border crossings.

 https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/content/news/what-government-funding-bill-means-texas-0

Compensating communities for expenditures already spent is not really spending on border security.  Maybe if they had compensated the communities earlier Texas wouldn’t have sent illegals to the VP’s house.

There seems to be a differing of opinion as to the rest of the allocations and what they will do:

U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop, R-NC, says, prohibiting funding for U.S. Customs and Border Protection technology to improve security at the southern U.S. border while funding border security for Middle Eastern countries.

The bill also would fund increased processing and transportation of illegal foreign nationals throughout the U.S. and allocate $1.2 million for DACA recipients, despite federal courts repeatedly ruling the program is illegal in a case brought by Texas.

The bill states, “None of the funds … shall be used to hire permanent federal employees; for any flight hours other than those flown by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations, except for internal transportation of noncitizens; or to acquire, maintain, or extend border security technology and capabilities, except for technology and capabilities to improve Border Patrol processing.”

In response, the Border Patrol Union, which represents U.S. Border Patrol agents tasked with border security, said, “The Biden Admin doesn't want more money for DHS to enforce laws and deport people. They only want more money to process more people so they can release more people. Don't be fooled by their propaganda.”

The bill would allocate $410 million to border security for the countries of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency through Sept. 30, 2024.

The union also said, “No administration in modern history of this country has done more damage, killed the morale of Border Patrol agents and unleashed death, destruction, rapes, murders and mayhem at our border like the Biden administration.”

Cronyn voted for this bill and is spreading the propaganda to make him look like ht helped his constituents.  Its amazing what you will fall for, even quotient a Republican.

But using people as pawns is not the answer. Dropping them off in 18 degree weather in t-shirts is a cruel way to own the libs. But as others have said, the cruelty is the point, isn’t it? Excites the hell out of you.

Even you realize that the border fiasco is truly bipartisan. This is one area I have to say trump MAY have done a better job. I read daily how the border towns and states are doing. How they are drowning in immigrants every day and the federal govt under Biden and Harris does nothing. When these "stunts" show the nation how bad the problem truly is, everyone runs around with their hair on fire.

ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS SIT DOWN AND DO THEIR JOBS AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

A*$holes doing this to other humans on Christmas Eve. I hope there’s a special place in Hell for false Christians who falsely evoke God’s name while practicing such cruelty. Greg Abbott & DeSantis— choice of phony Christians everywhere— top the list.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/24/politics/migrants-dropped-off-vice-president-christmas-eve/index.html

Did you even read this article?

It says the recipients were aware and prepared for the buses after being notified. The feds have been dropping off these migrants all over Texas and Florida in the middle of the night for two years of Biden and Harris.  Is your complaint about Christians related to the weather report? Yes 18 sounds very cold but the low Saturday morning at my house in Florida was 16. These migrants were going to be dropped somewhere in the US on Christmas Eve by the Biden administration. Where would you have recommended? Was it the choice of Harris house and the city? Question: Did Harris open her door and let the migrants into her very large and very warm house?

The article says they were taken to shelters that were ready for them. So your primary complaint is the location of the drop off.  Is that wrong? Would it be  better to drop them in Florida where it is 16 degrees and there are no shelters available or if there are no notification to be ready?  Is the complaint that nobody gave them a coat? Seems like a simple solution to the t-shirt issue.

Standard complaint from you Tex.  Bash Christians, bash republicans, don’t offer solutions, don’t even analyze the problem accurately before assigning blame and assassinating everybody’s character. Perhaps you could offer some of these good people some space on your ranch out there in Texas.

These people could follow the laws of our country. The president and vice president could enforce the laws of our country.

I know Dan Bishop and can tell you he’s always been a nut job.

Funding for 300 border patrol agents isn’t zero for border security. Does this one funding bill solve a complex problem? Of course not. It would be idiotic to expect it to.

Yeah, I read the article. No coordination from the entity sending the buses— it’s non-profits who’ve been on the ground figuring it out so these folks don’t experience even more unnecessary suffering. That’s the only reason the folks were taken to a shelter that the buses could have dropped them at in the first place if the purpose wasn’t using them as a stunt. Standard fare from you— first you enjoy the cruelty then you defend it.

What is the cruelty? The house? The cold? It was colder in Florida. Maybe even Texas. I don’t know about Texas I don’t live there. The feds don’t coordinate when they drop off. If they do crowds show up to protest. Remember california under Obama? Again what is your recommendation for those particular buses. We can’t have democrat hypocrisy exposed.

What’s stopping the folks sending the migrants from dropping them off at the actual shelter? What’s the purpose in dropping them off in front of the VP’s house?

She is the border Czar. But she won’t go there. It brings the border to her.  My guess is when the buses left no shelter had been identified yet. Got some action that way.

Right. No state of Texas governmental entity makes any effort to coordinate with a DC shelter. That’s not their purpose.

So if they make a guy in Montgomery “border czar” will the buses go there?

Why would the border czar live in Montgomery? It’s Harris. It was her house.  I don’t know what Texas governmental entities do.

You know what Greg Abbott does. This.

So if Biden appoints a “Border Czar” who lives outside DC in a rural area, should the buses go there?

What a lame hypothetical.  Pretty much any border czar beside Harris would actually be doing his or her job satisfactorily.  If so then no because there would not be buses of migrants flooding our border trying to establish themselves in our racist bigoted white supremacist infested country. If that hypothetical rurally located border czar sat at home on the ranch, refused to assess the border in person, then claim for all to hear that the border is secure, then yes they should.  It almost looks like liberal democrats don’t want migrants near them at all, so they drop them in red states without asking permission or coordinating, similar to the way a chess player uses pawns. Oh wait..

Migrants tend to come through border states into blue metro areas, even in Texas— El Paso, San Antonio.

Which liberal Democrats are dropping dropping off migrants in what red states outside of your fever dream?

When you cling to a rigid political position over the well-being of fellow human beings...when you see the using of others as political props as acceptable when it makes a political point you like, you can be sure your politics is now your god.

Repent of your idolatry.

It's both.  But if nothing else, the fear that such mistreatment of another human being for political ends would invoke the wrath of their Creator ought to curb one's worst impulses.

Doing the right thing out of fear is meaningless.
