Not that he would come here but why are we so infatuated with Lane Kiffin but never mention Bill O Brien? I don’t get it at all. I mean I haven’t compared resumes but I’m thinking Bill O Brien’s is not to shabby. Won at Penn State when they were basically given a death sentence won in the NFL for several years. Is currently putting up numbers at Bama… the defense has been their problem. Is it because he throws the ball too much? Well doesn’t Kiffin make some pretty stupid calls on the regular?

I don’t know much about him overall but I’ve gotten the vibe that Bama fans want him gone. Which doesn’t necessarily mean much as there were OSU fans calling for Ryan Day’s head last night too so fans maybe not the best judges all the time.

I'm totally aware. I was just throwing his name in there because if AU was to hire a West Coast guy, Riley is possibly the only one that would rally the troops. Whittingham is interesting, but I think it would be the sequel to the Harsin experiment. Chip Kelly falls flat for me.

Just curious. Where did you get the info that those two were top options for our AD of PTB? Seems like you should pretty much know who else they were gonna offer unless your source dried up, but IDK.

1. People need to keep their personal and political believes to themselves on a dang football forum. We have other outlets for that. Good grief we get enough of that on social media as it is.

2. I am starting to believe Auburn once again has not a clue and we will end up with Caddy as the HC.

It wasn’t Bill O Brien that gave up those rushing yards. My only hang up with him is I wish he’d run the ball more. Other than that he’s a legit coach and proven winner. I think it would absolutely crush the Tide if he left right now. The defense is not that good and the offense I believe is losing some star power.

I think BOB is the reason why the offense stalls so much. BOB at Auburn would be terrible.

That’s the problem. Who the hell is the right hire? This guy likes strippers. That guy like escorts. Look we ain’t getting Dabo, Lincoln Riley, or any top proven coach. We will be taking a chance on a guy no matter what. Can’t hire him cause he has a butt chin.

You’re right we would not want a guy who won 10 + games at Temple twice and Baylor once because he can obviously coach. We don’t want that, just want someone with Auburn ties.

I didn't say anything about any coach, and I would take both coaches you mentioned in a heartbeat.  What I was asking is how did you know they were tops on AU's list? Because if you have an inside source, I want to pay close attention to your posts the next few days. If you don't, then the top names were who you wanted, but maybe not AU. That's all I'm asking.

Can we please just hire a coach with no current baggage on or off field. I would love to just focus on football, recruiting, and development of players. AU does not need anymore drama. Part of why Cadillac was so contagious. As fans we got to focus on just football and encouraging the players and fan base.

No inside sources just many years of watching this process play out. We never think outside the box when it comes to a hire except what ADAG did last year but that was an awful hire from the time he made it and it was probably done just to save us from looking like Tennessee. We are too close minded. We really don’t think a Matt Rhule would be a good hire ? Well maybe not but based on his track record I think it’s a solid gamble. They are all gambles. We want to whore ourselves out for Lane Kiffin but we are too stupid to see that BOB is actually obtainable and has just as good if not better resume than Lane. It comes down too nobody legit really wants to come here except a desperate Hugh Freeze. If we could buy us for what we are really worth and sell us for what we think we’re worth we’d be doing very well.
