Along the lines of WC Fields' aphorism that "I wouldnt be a member of a club that would accept me as a member," a HC that doesn't want Caddy on staff is one I don't want, either. weagl1 1,793 Posted November 19, 2022 Share Posted November 19, 2022 Regardless of what happens with the HC hire Caddy needs to be part of the program. My thought on him being the HC is that he is too nice a guy for that. A HC in the SEC has got to be ruthless. I just can’t see Caddy being able to run off an assistant that needs to go because of poor performance. He would be thinking about the guy personally or thinking about what he is doing to the guy’s family situation. Same with a player that is messing up and needs to go for the good of the team. I want Caddy in a role where he is a face of the program. The recruiting coordinator, RB Coach and Assistant HC, something like that. He has done a great job of bringing the team together in a bad situation and giving them a chance to win. I just don’t think it’s in his wheelhouse to make the tough decisions a HC must be able to make. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
