Popular Post abw0004 10,332
Good morning all, I hope this post finds each and every one of your safe and sound from Hurricane Ian. Much of Georgia and all of Alabama was spared from the storm, but I know many parts of Florida were torn to shreds. With Saturday now over, we now close our five-game home stretch and look to start traveling, starting with Georgia this upcoming Saturday. Here are my thoughts from inside the stadium Saturday night: LSU Band: I want to get the record straight on this one first. I saw many comments on Facebook wondering why we booed the LSU marching band. There was good reason and very justified. During our injury timeout, the band decided to play their tunes instead of give respect to our player, the same respect we gave them when Sevyn Banks was being tended to. The marching band was also taunting the crowd down on the field when LSU had the fumble recovery for a touchdown. Lastly, as you may have heard on TV, the band would continue to play even when our center was over the ball. This happened every single time. As a drumline guy, I love all marching bands, but this band deserved every boo and jeer that came their way. Home Crowd: Despite the idiocy of the LSU marching band, I am extremely proud of our fans. It really was a fun atmosphere to be a part of. The weather was perfect and people were up and loud all game long. The crowd got to enjoy fireworks as well as a flyover of twelve stunt planes (the ones that have smoke). Our crowd did everything possible to help our team win the game, but unfortunately it was not near enough. Dylan Cardwell: If you have not been to a home game this year, our talented backup center in basketball, Dylan Cardwell, is a regular at our football games in more ways than one. Not only does he attend every game, but in many ways is the star hype-man. Although Harsin may have lost his shirt to LSU, Cardwell loses his shirt any time the camera is on him. It is in all good fun of course and we even made him a custom shirt to wear commemorating that. There is also a little boy that is funny to watch that the cameraman always finds who also loves to take his shirt off and twirl it over his head. I would guess he is only 10 years old. Well, for this game Auburn linked Cardwell and this little boy up and it was a great moment to watch. They both loved the moment and this very well may have been the highlight of the night. Took a Double-Loss: I say this as a little bit of humor in making fun of myself because I feel we need something positive around this program. It was bad enough to have lost the way we did and listen to LSU fans as we left the stadium. To make matters even worse I was pulled over at 2:30 AM for speeding. I was only about a mile from my house too. I just could not win at anything that day. The police officer came up and saw I was still in my Auburn gear (as I was still driving home) and proceeded to remind me of how we blew the lead to LSU. So we talked for about 20 minutes on how Harsin needs to be let go. Luckily after this my sex-appeal won him over and I got off without a ticket. As we move forward, I can only guess what will happen but I don't ever know what will happen for sure. All we can do is hope for the best. I do hope that whatever decisions Auburn is about to make, ends up being in the best interest of the university. I do have faith this will happen, but there will most likely be more of this storm we appear to be in before the sun comes through. Until the next home-game recap... 7 6

EagleEye67 1,948
Great writeup, thanks. Agree with everything posted. The fans and atmosphere at JHS was absolutely electric - the crowd was into it all night long. Super support for our boys
Dshep4au 275
I agree with everything you said-definitely a great atmosphere! I noticed that with LSU band playing right up to the snap when we’re right in front of them. I am surprised the refs didn’t say something- not really- the refs were awful! I do not remember if the announcers commented on it, but I noticed it several times.

It was funny when the AU and LSU bands were playing and the stadium speakers were blasting..... all at the same time...3 different songs. Just noise

TigerPAC 1,030
atmosphere was great. we wondered about the LSU band as well, esp sitting in section 38 close to them. eagle flight was the best this year so far! the LSU students/fans who sat behind us were actually cordial, polite and stated this was by far their best away game experience. (just wish we had won) Edited October 3, 2022 by TigerPAC
