It's just as likely the SEC Commissioner, AU Prez/AD have info on Freeze that was never made public.

Gotta remember that Houston Nutt's attorney's requested Freeze's phone records through FOIA for a tiny little snippet of time, and they found a number for the escort service.  That was all that was made public.   Ole Miss investigated and found a pattern of personal misconduct.

That was their mistake right there. They should have Bama's internal investigation personnel. They would have found nothing.

As I’ve said, the national media is starting to recognize that Deion is the real deal. And this isn’t the first national writer to say that Deion and Auburn would be the perfect fit. Unfortunately I think Auburn is too scared and stupid to see that he is the obvious choice…

I shoulda asked Sankey last night. He was eating right behind me at the dinner table at Texas de Brazil in Midtown beside the SEC headquarters.

Deion has over 1.3 million twitter followers now? If he had Auburn as a national platform. It’d be… epic.

Yep. Big picture. Again, he has the most potential out of any of the candidates. Think what he could bring to Auburn. It’s just too obvious to not hire him, or at the very least interview him…

By the time we get to Nov the situation may be way past “granting an interview”. Groveling may be in play.😎

Why not Freeze,?

Because we can't prevent him from having a cell phone and his best recruiting at Ole Miss involved NCAA violations.

I’m hoping. The thing is Deion would be such an out of the box thinking hire for Auburn. Excluding Harsin, who again was hired by a rogue AD, Auburn has always gone with someone who has had Auburn ties or is a safe choice. Not going to get my hopes up but I’m going to keep backing Deion hahaha

There’s nothing subtle about Deion. Again, he’s a uniquely disruptive personality.  Very rare and come with consequences.   Predators always do. He would  have no fear of Saban or Kirby.  None. Or our admin….. None.  If you bring in someone like that you have to accept that you’re not hiring him, you’re unleashing him. And brace from the ride. Ps I love rides!!

Haha, I wish I had that kind of pull. I will say that I know for a fact that some prominent people are backing Deion. As I’ve said before though, there’s no official list because we have no AD. Dr. Roberts has a process. Harsin will get fired first, then we’ll hire an AD, who will be the one who hires our next coach. That’s why I don’t take any of these lists you read seriously. No one knows who we will interview or even be a candidate because we haven’t even hired our AD…

And that’s exactly what Auburn needs. The amount of exposure he would bring to Auburn would be unparalleled. I love Bruce, but he would be a tiny blip compared to what Deion would bring here when it comes to social media and promoting Auburn…

See, that's why I think we probably need a "backup" plan. Based of PAM's post (please please please don't be McGlynn--unfortunately the news out of Utah State this week might hurt Hartwell's chances), it's quite possible that the AD search puts us behind the 8ball on coaching candidates.

And people say hiring Sanders has no downside. Your own post shows just how badly such a hiring could blow up. Probably blow up? Not probable. Possibly blow up? Yes indeed.

I think you’re taking it the wrong way. And I also think you could say that about any of the other coaches being mentioned. t least with Deion we would be talked about non stop and have a loaded roster even if he did flame out. You and others need to do some research and watch some of his social media. If you’re not excited after that then you just have to be biased towards him…

I'm not biased against him. I simply don't give a rat's azz about Sanders' or any other coaching prospects' social media posts. Must be a generational thing.

No it’s more about what college football has become. It’s a business now and it’s why Deion is so relatable with recruits, which is very important…

He's brought recruits to Jackson State who are above average compared to what they normally get. He also landed one huge nationally sought recruit. What Sanders has to sell at JSU, which is support/upgrade HBCUs will not be a sales pitch at Auburn. Here he'll have to bump heads with the top guys in the country on 40+ prospects every year, not just one guy. Can he do that? Maybe, maybe not.

I don't hate the idea of hiring him but I think he's got just as much risk tied to him as the other candidates do.

There are many coaching options that takes us back to where we were.  Whatever the hell that means.  But better than now. But I believe Deion is different and will involve accepting a big personality and risks. Bottom line:  IMO if AU fans truly want to go to an elite level. Deion is a unique opportunity. And it won’t come again.

My 2 cents.

It’s been more than just one guy and he would have way more clout than any other coach we could get. I just look at the potential he has compared to the others…

Scenario I'm concerned is going to happen:

-Aranda goes to Nebraska

-FSU job opens up

-Sankey refuses to sign off on Freeze

Or we get Deion, win 4 NCs, Saban retires in humiliation, and Harvard renames it self Auburn North.
