Auburn’s SEC opener against Missouri is set for an early kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn will host Missouri on Sept. 24 for an 11 a.m. matchup in the teams’ first SEC game of the season, the league announced Monday. The game will air on ESPN.

The Week 4 matchup between the two sets of Tigers will serve as Auburn’s homecoming game this season, but it will also mark Missouri’s first-ever trip to the Plains. Missouri has yet to visit Jordan-Hare Stadium since joining the SEC ahead of the 2012 season, and the program never previously faced Auburn in the regular season prior to then.

This will be just the second time the two teams have met in the regular season all-time, with the most recent coming in Columbia, Mo., during the 2017 season. Auburn won that meeting, 51-14, in its first-ever trip to Faurot Field. The only other two meetings between Auburn and Missouri have come in the postseason: Auburn defeated Missouri in the 2013 SEC Championship Game on its way to an appearance in the BCS title game, and the teams met for the first time ever in the 1973 Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

Auburn leads the all-time series with Missouri, 2-1, winning both matchups since the two sides have been conference opponents.

Before Auburn and Missouri open SEC play on the Plains, Bryan Harsin’s team will host No. 22 Penn State (2-0) at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Week 3, while Eli Drinkwitz’s program will host Abilene Christian.
