Finley remains the starter, but at least for now, Auburn coaches appear to be committed to playing two quarterbacks. Can splitting snaps between Finley and redshirt freshman Robby Ashford work going forward against a brutal schedule? It appears likely that, no matter what Finley does, there will be a place for Ashford as the season goes forward. That makes sense, because Ashford's athleticism brings a different dimension to Auburn’s offense. Auburn coach Bryan Harsin and Auburn players dismiss the old cliché that says a team that has two quarterbacks doesn’t have one. They say they are convinced playing two quarterbacks can work. Offensive linemen say it doesn’t affect them Receivers say the same. And Harsin insists it’s no big deal.
