Auburn scored 14 points in each of the game’s first three quarters to move to 1-0. The game took an unusual break towards the end of the third quarter, as lightning was detected within a close distance to Jordan-Hare Stadium that forced the game to be delayed for an hour and 27 minutes. The biggest storyline from Auburn’s win is the quarterback situation. Earlier this week, it was announced that T.J. Finley would get the starting job, but it was also reported that Robby Ashford would see time as well. Finley attempted more passes, completing 9-of-14 passes for 112 yards, but Auburn got more production from Ashford, who completed 4-of-7 passes for 100 yards, but would go on to rush for an additional 68 yards.
