Bruce Pearl is a reckless jerk

My point was not that you wouldn't start the thread as quickly as someone else, it was that you wouldn't have made the thread at all, even if no one else had started it.

The difference it would make is that you wouldn't have been all gung ho about Pearl being a reckless jerk if you agreed with him.

*NOTE* I could be wrong. This is my first foray into the political forum in many years, so I don't really know if you would have made the post or not, I just think it's worth pointing out that I don't think your attitude would be so hostile if you didn't hate what he said on a political level.

Well, unless we enter that alternate universe I guess we’ll never know for sure.

A bit combative, aren't we? I mean, I *did* agree with most everything you had to say, but you seem to be confronting me as an adversary.

But then, I guess this is the political smack talk board. Right then, I'll just see myself out.

I didn’t mean that to be combative at all. You’re posing a position that’s unknowable— would I have started the thread? We’ll never know. All I can tell you is my opinion would be the same.

Just one more example that David fails to grasp the concept he frequently complains about.

I am sorely afraid that it is you and several of the mods and admins here that cannot grasp the simple subject matter. If you are going to ban and discipline people for whataboutisms then do it fairly and evenly.

Your answer was actually a proof of my assertion.

I think there was a huge bipartisan overreaction in Covid stimulus spending that’s coming home to roost. I got a check I didn’t need under Trump— but both parties supported it. I never got a Covid check under Biden, so it was at least more targeted, but all payments under both Presidents were ripe with abuse and put to much money in the economy without sufficiently helping those who needed it most.

The UK is now averaging $125 to fill a tank, however. Inflation is 73% in Turkey.

Trump bullied the Fed to keep rates close to zero to juice the economy on his watch. The Fed should have been slowly inching up rates for the last 6 years or so. Many things contribute to our current dilemma.

He actually was continuing an Obama era decision. The fact that you blindly misstate the facts is very telling.

I used to follow Bruce on Twitter ... I stopped about a year ago. He has done this several times in the past and to the point where he's used misleading/false information in his tweets. Love him as a coach. Disagree with almost everything he has ever said politically. Wish he would stop posting political stuff so I could follow him again.

*Sigh* 40% of the US currency currently in circulation did not exist before Biden came into office. It would be more accurate to say that inflation is driving the cost of energy.

Also, if you think oil companies didn't use the closing of the Keystone Pipeline as an excuse to raise prices, then you're more than a little bit naïve.

I doubt you are emotionally ready to accept the truth but,,,

I was responding to someone saying Bruce was not wrong about Biden’s “socialist government” flooding the economy with Covid spending. Pointing out it started with Trump refutes the blanket assertion. Refutation isn’t “whataboutism.”

We had several years of near 0% prime keeping the economy going during the Obama Admin.

You should have kept the discussion on track for both of you.

True. He didn’t insinuate he’d fire the Fed chair if he raised it, and Trump claimed he oversaw the greatest economy ever. I know you secretly love Trump, but c’mon.

Well since you asked, He called me liar for denying something I never said.  He was never able to quote me for the simple reason I never said it.

Eventually - after literally weeks - he finally admitted that maybe he actually inferred it instead of my actually saying it. But then, he refused to admit he was simply mistaken and continued to call me a liar over something I never said

I can only conclude he lacks integrity and/or the self-confidence to do the right thing and admit he was wrong and apologize.

The irony is that we agree on far more issues and substance than not.  But he lost my respect, which is why I mostly ignore him.
