Bruce Pearl is a reckless jerk

I agree he shouldn’t have used his coaching account this way, but he’s not wrong.

Trump oversaw a ton of that spending, but no blatant partisanship needs to be displayed by any high profile Auburn official.

I agree with you. He shouldn’t have used his account this way.  The fact remains more spending, when America was about to recover on it’s own was not warranted, unless you were trying to full fill a campaign slogan and *Build Back Better*.  He only got half of what he wanted and we are in the mist of high inflation, teetering on a recession.  Well done Brandon.

Yeah, not a good look at all to be getting political on your work social account. Many possible downsides for no benefit.

At least the tweet wasn't too bad as far as content goes. aside from the cringe "socialist" dig.

Agreed. I couldn't believe he wrote that tweet. What was he thinking?

He does it pretty routinely.

Not to mention he is just wrong.  The cost of energy is driving most of the inflation.  Biden has almost no ability to affect the price of energy.

Socialism is hardly the issue in this country.

It's just dumb.

I've seen him RT-ing congresspeople who have voiced support for Israel on Twitter, but not a direct call out like this one. SMH.

and to be fair no one called him out on all the black lives matter and i think his team loved him for it. i really have no idea how this will effect anything. but if he has powerful folks that do not like him which has been hinted at it might turn out to bite him in the behind.

Oh, I'm sure there were plenty of people on this forum who were seething when he joined the team for a BLM march,

but personally I think that participating in a social justice march together with your players and sending lone tweets directly criticizing the President's policies are two totally different things.

I’m not a big donor or the father of a recruit, but if I were Auburn would be off my list.

Nah, doing nothing other than being critical of Joe. Most folks have been to the grocery store and service station past few days. “Faultless” Joe good as anyone to blame. May as well come from a great coach.

I bet if he said something along the lines of "Joe Biden is doing a fantastic job....people need to stop blaming him..." the reaction from some would be different.

He's a citizen of the United States. Freely speak your mind coach.

I bet it wouldn’t. No high profile university official should be this brazenly partisan on an account recognized as them being in their official capacity.

Thought you’d at least get the problem with it. I keep overestimating you. I’ll learn eventually.

It's a personal account in the same way Gus's account is his personal account but lost a ton of Auburn fan followers after he left Auburn. It's not Auburn basketball's twitter account so he can say what he wants on that account. If you don't like what he says that's fine. If youre a recruits parents and dont want your kid to come to Auburn because someone holds beliefs, thats fine too.

Just stop following his personal account and keep following Auburn Men's Basketball. This whole idea that he shouldn't be posting his personal beliefs because he's the basketball coach at Auburn is pretty selfish.

It’s his “personal account” for which this is the first line in the bio: “Head Men's Basketball Coach at Auburn

I’ll stop following Auburn Basketball instead.

I get were it could possibly or potentially be a problem but doubt it will. Do not follow twitter at all so maybe do not realize the impact. Would think it best for high profile coaches, etc. avoid political publicity.

I was caught up in the message regardless, doing some traveling and had to fill up a couple of times last few days. I overestimate myself sometimes so no need to feel bad Brother Tex.

If that's your conviction then go for it. But between me and you, i dont think youll do that.

His bio line also says he's a husband and a father, so yes, it's his personal account. The account is owned by Bruce Pearl, the person. If he were to leave Auburn that account would not belong to Auburn University, Auburn Athletics, or Auburn Basketball.

Political posts are a no win proposition for a coach.  There is no point in pissing off half your fan base, not to mention your own team and possible recruits.  Despite liking the sentiment, I hope the AD talks to him.   That was well over the line.  He should stop yesterday.
