Look: Photos from Auburn's scrimmage

March 26, 2022 3:00 pm CT

Auburn football had its first scrimmage of spring practice Friday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The program is entering the second year under coach Bryan Harsin and is seeking to replace three-year starting quarterback Bo Nix. The competition is down to T.J. Finley, zach calzada, robby ashford, and Holden Geriner.

Finley started three games last season, while Calzada and Ashford are transferring in from Texas A&M and Oregon, respectively. Finley is getting the majority of the first-team reps with Ashford and Geriner also getting opportunities. Calzada, who is expected to push Finley for the starting job, is recovering from a left shoulder injury and is limited.

In addition to that battle, Auburn is having to replace several wide receivers and is looking to see which young player will step up and create opportunities for the quarterback. These positions will be two of the most to monitor this spring as Auburn’s coaching staff examines the roster.

Here are some photos from the first scrimmage Friday night.
