We must run international trade policy and foreign policy based on our stated democratic principles.  We must stop running both by the capitalist, for the capitalist.

We spend far too much wielding influence around the world.  Too much because the people who truly benefit have socialized that cost.

Why do people continue to look down in order to see the problem we have with socialism?

Thought more on this one. I actually very much agree on where we are at now. We are a country that has simply moved our slaves to China. We have Apple, Nike, et al that are wildly prospering off of essentially slaves in China. NBA Players are growing wildly wealthy prospering of slave labor in China.

Of course the flip side is that our pols and govt officials are just as susceptible to corruption as anyone else. I have LLLOOONNNGGG ago given up on the idea that noble people will get elected, go into office and stay noble. That is just delusional fantasy

If people think that only good law abiding people are coming into this country to work and therefore everyone should be allowed to come, you are the problem.   If you don’t think that there needs to be some type of control(border wall or some type barrier), you are the problem.
People are more than welcome to come to America the right way.   America needs to know who enters this country and how long they plan on staying.   It happens every day if you have ever traveled outside this country.

We have a duty to help the poor and needy.  The vast majority of these people actually contribute to our society.

I’m sorry but we don’t have a duty to do anything but take care of our own family.
As a country it’s not the responsibility to take care of other countries.   You complain about capitalism and yet it’s capitalism that allows this country to be as prosperous and productive as anything in the world.   It’s capitalism that allows this country to give millions of dollars to foreign countries all around the world.   I’m not against immigrants coming to this country legally and being productive members of this country.    Laws are in place for reason. It’s not an unreasonable request to make immigrants come into this country at a port of entry.

As long as they come via legal means. However, we need to help the poor and needy of our own first.

We can do better with both.  The problem is at the top, not the bottom.  Until we all stop falling for the distraction, society will decline.

Why?  As a whole, they represent a net gain.  I think you should work on your sense of humanity.

It's not an either/or, zero-sum proposition.

You need to stop projecting on people.   This is all your opinion and it’s my opinion.   This is the problem with this country.   We are either a country with laws or without.    Clearly you didn’t read or comprehend my entire post.    It’s typical in today’s society.

When the law becomes a substitute for justice, when the law becomes an excuse for inhumanity, you will find yourself ruled by power, living with fear and anger.

A free, peaceful, productive society is the result of principles, justice, not mere laws.

Do you have any concrete reasons for not wanting to allow desperate people sanctuary?
