Wacky Right Wing Parent sees a Facebook post from a Huntsville school about teachers taking a class on discrimination. Files formal complain with the State requesting they investigate and he accuses the school of violating the State Board of Educations rule that forbids "CRT".

Huntsville schools says the lesson has nothing to do with CRT, that the parent's accusations are unfounded and that the school is actually still under Federal oversight for de-segregation purposes and the training is to in part comply with federal government oversight.

The State says they'll look into it, but they aren't exactly sure what they are looking for or what the punishment might be if they find what they aren't sure they are looking for.

Parent dude says white straight people are being targeted in todays society. He then also gives this dinger:

Stephens said he doesn’t believe in whitewashing history and wants Alabama’s history to be accurately taught to students, including segregation and slavery, which Stephens called “horrible” and “awful.”

“Teach the honest truth about all of that. We need to know about these things so that we don’t repeat it in the future.

But the teacher training’s sharp focus on race concerns Stephens. “The school should not be teaching anything race related because race doesn’t matter.”

Good thing these parents are so involved in our public education system right?

Yes, because 400 years of slavery and segregation happened with no regard for race and it all got fixed with the stroke of a pen and there are no vestiges of it still with us 50 years later.

Slavery is abominable no question.
Hundreds of years ago blacks in Africa enslaved other blacks in Africa and sold them around the world. Most countries and continents participated. North America did also first as a frontier late 1400s until 1783. Then as a nation less than 100 years later we fought a war and slavery was outlawed in the US with most other nations following suit in later years. Pretty much the only countries still using slaves are Muslim countries. Are there still some racists 160 years later? Yes a few but  not widespread. Our country should be celebrated for dealing with slavery and leading the world to outlaw it. Not berated because we participated in a legal transaction 600 years ago.

This is just false. The U.S. was one of the LAST major nations to officially end slavery. Most of Europe and even Mexico ended slavery DECADES, in some cases 50+ years before the U.S. did.

Portugal- 1761 (only in the mainland, still has slavery in it's African and Brazilian colonies)

Denmark/Norway- 1803

Spain- 1820

Mexico- 1829

British Empire- 1834

France- 1848

United states- 1865

My bad on failure to dig deep. I really felt we did lead in outlawing slavery.  Russia and China are also major countries behind us. One outlawed early by changing the name to serfs so really kept slavery and the other well after us. I’ll concede France and Spain and part of the British empire but would not call Mexico Denmark and Norway major countries. I still say we accomplished the overall goal and trying to apply reparations now for 160 years ago would be inappropriate.
