Well it’s also the poorly ran “cheating” and contacting the escorts on company technology. Also doing all that as this quintessential down to earth family man SALESMAN (ala Dabo or Coach O before the divorce) He was just the epitome of rookie and amateur, and once the veil is lost on those types..it’s hard to recover rep wise

he also just hasn’t been good enough to try to soften the situation and get him back in the P5 game

You don't think he's been good enough at Liberty?  He's developed a 1st round QB and pretty sure they were at least ranked last year.

Yes, I did forget about the whole cheating and paying players thing, lol.

If we should decide to do something with the DC position, Muschamp is wandering the sidelines at UGA as an analyst. He can coach and recruit. Why not go first class?

And would bring a whole lot of fire to the sideline that some wish Harsin had more of

I could see this and I don't foresee him being a HC anytime soon, if ever.  Idk what his HC combined record is at UF and SC but it can't be good.

It wasn’t but he has a proven track record of being a great recruiter and DC. People will make the HC comparison to CDM but they’re wrong.

Yea, I simply meant we wouldn't have to worry about him having one foot out the door looking for his next HC job because that's not gonna happen, he's a great DC though.

Yep. Stay for several years and build something great.

Last year was cool, but he still has that first rounder and came with higher expectations and fell markedly short this season. I don’t think he’s been bad, he just hasn’t been good enough to get the side eye on things

I think Aub basketball was desperate enough and Pearl did something that could be reasonably disputed in terms of its seriousness. And the Board of Trustees didn’t care too much about the bball optics at that point. But the way we’d analyze a football coach, I feel like most southern programs would do the same (hell we might have looser boundaries than others if you believe the Hugh rumors from last coaching search)

Because he has left Auburn twice already, once as a lateral position.   South Carolina was a step up, I just wouldn’t give a guy a third chance

What first round qb?   No way Malik goes in first round

I would. Auburn was better for it both times. No one stays forever.

Edit: IF there was an opening. I'm not ready to get rid of Mason yet.

Muschamp's son is a RS Fr. QB at uga. Probably wants to be around in the event he can be at least backup.. If the opening comes, surely he's a strong candidate for DC for uga, ... maybe even HC if the opportunity somehow presents and uga discounts his prior HC results elsewhere. But if those don't keep him there a while, go hard after him after he has 3 years collecting notes on the Kirby system. We certainly could leverage that in recruiting - maybe.

You guys are talking about OC and DC. Here's my take. Go out and get the best damn OL and DL coaches. Coaches that can teach and develop on a pro-style level. Head coach sells this approach.

Build the foundation first.

The better solution is for Harsin to go to Washington and take Greene and his Boise boys with him.  Then go after Kiffen as we should have done last year.

I think muschamp is ST coach not analyst anymore but may be wrong.

I would never allow him back on campus again. He’s burned his bridges twice with Auburn. There’s no 3rd chance.

Why not? He got mad at JJ over some tickets and left Auburn because of it. Muschamp isn't the only person who got mad at JJ. The second time he left it was to take a head coaching job. He can hardly be blamed for accepting a big opportunity.

He should go after Manny Diaz if gets the ax. Ed O would be a shot in the arm as Defensive coordinator.

I would love Ed O or Manny. Ed O especially because of his recruiting abilities. They will all probably end up with the little man across the state.
