Does Harsin go after Lake

I'd imagine he at least gets a phone call. More than likely, either Mason stays or Schmedding gets the promotion. However, I'm not sure if I buy the too much baggage argument. DJ Durkin is at Ole Miss as DC

I will literally stop supporting Auburn if we hire this guy

How about not hiring fired head coaches as assistants who really have one foot out the door looking for their next HC job;  and get up and coming assistant talent that is hungry and wants to prove themselves.

See UGA's 35 y/o elite recruiter and elite defensive mind as their DC

Yeah I want someone trying to make a name for themselves. Coordinators are trying to get HC gigs. If they work their ass off to get there it only helps us. CFB’s version of the invisible hand, if you will.

Whatever the case, Bert Watts is a good coach but shouldn't be coaching special teams. There's so many mistakes over the year... he needs to be focused on defense, or maybe hes too focused on defense. Give that job to someone else

Agreed. He is qualified and is a good coach. Heck, the whole Potato gang is pretty good imo. But yes, we need to bring in someone who can focus more on ST. Something has to change there in the leadership of that unit

So, you want to fire Mason, who has done a decent job, and hire somebody with zero coordinator experience?

Thats a no from me, dawg

Unless you're Saban, whose specialty is rehab of former HC's.

If we should decide to do something with the DC position, Muschamp is wandering the sidelines at UGA as an analyst. He can coach and recruit. Why not go first class?

If you’re gonna hire him, you might as well hire Freeze and/or Art too

They actually probably wouldn’t be as bad, with recency bias in play

It's wild to me that someone who had sex with consenting adults is in the same realm of Briles and O

Well it’s also the poorly ran “cheating” and contacting the escorts on company technology. Also doing all that as this quintessential down to earth family man SALESMAN (ala Dabo or Coach O before the divorce) He was just the epitome of rookie and amateur, and once the veil is lost on those types..it’s hard to recover rep wise

he also just hasn’t been good enough to try to soften the situation and get him back in the P5 game

Man we think recruiting is bad right now, let Harsin promote Schmeding and Keesau to coordinators in the SEC.

It’s wayyy too many programs recruiting at (an least) better level than us, while also being incredibly sorry, that I just don’t think we should be okay with hiring “developers” that’ll be playing with bottom of the barrel toys. There could be an endgame where winning while overachieving starts convincing studs…but that long game just doesn’t exist anymore
