Georgia beat Florida 34-7 in Jacksonville, Auburn beat Ole Miss 31-20 and Mississippi State upset Kentucky with 14 point win over the Wildcats. In a battle of the two worst teams in the league, Missouri beat Vanderbilt 37-28.

Maybe because 13-14 was the last time I really consumed Auburn related sports media, but this trajectory (in power rankings) really mirrors 2013 to me. Some decent looking performances early, an early season game against a SEC juggernaut that could potentially launch us, then getting knocked down a good peg and not being taken seriously again until midseason

This is my favorite type of season for AU. No big expectations pre-season. Look good enough first few games to give me confidence in the trajectory of the program, but not enough to sway the talking head media pundits, and everything we want still right in play. Love Love Love where we are headed and the fact that we are actually ahead of schedule.
