The accolades continue to pile up for Derrick Brown.

After taking home the Lott IMPACT Trophy on Sunday night, Brown was named to another All-America team on Monday morning. The Auburn senior defensive tackle was named a first-team AP All-American, giving him his second major All-America honor of the year.

Last week, Brown was named to the Walter Camp All-America team. He needs one more first-team nod from either the AFCA, Sporting News or the FWAA -- all of which will be released this week -- to be considered a consensus All-American. If all five name him to their respective All-America first teams, Brown will garner recognition as a unanimous All-American, which Auburn has only had eight of in program history, most recently in 1990.

Brown’s All-America honor from the AP comes after the 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle was tabbed as the SEC Defensive Player of the Year by both the AP and the league’s coaches. Brown totaled 50 tackles on the season, including 12.5 for a loss and four sacks. He also registered four pass breakups, a pair of forced fumbles (both on strip-sacks) and two fumble recoveries. According to Pro Football Focus analysis, Brown totaled 38 quarterback pressures for Auburn and posted a pass-rush grade of 90.7. He also had 25 run stops and did not miss a tackle against the run as Auburn went 9-3 on the year and earned a berth in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 against Minnesota.

He should be a lock for unanimous All American. Congrats to Derrick. Also noticed another school was left off of the first team ballot. Rare but nice to see.

Probably not nice of me to say because their guys work hard too.
