2 Minute Drill: Auburn comes up empty vs. UGA once again

ByJason Caldwell

1-2 minutes

AUBURN, Alabama—Despite a strong fourth quarter that saw Auburn dominate Georgia in every phase of the game, Coach Gus Malzahn and the Tigers couldn't overcome a 21-0 deficit as they lost for the 12th time in 15 games in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. Despite allowing just 251 yards of total offense and forcing nine three-and-outs by Georgia's offense, Auburn's defense gave up drives of 88, 81 and 61 yards with all ending in touchdowns.

On offense the issue was once again the running game for Auburn as the Tigers managed just 84 total rushing yards with Bo Nix leading the team with 42 yards on the ground. Running backs DJ Williams, Boobee Whitlow and Shaun Shivers combined for just 52 yards on 20 carries in the loss.

Mark Murphy and Jason Caldwell break down the loss and some of the key reasons why in this edition of the 2 Minute Drill.
