I don’t see it. MSU is not a team to sandbag. If he goes back to A-gap runs every 1st down and other predictability, they can easily beat us. Plus why show all the nuances against A&M and not try to perfect them? And Mullen isn’t allowed to watch the A&M tape? He sandbagged against Tulane and Kent St (minus the flea flicker). This isn’t a team to sandbag.

Hold on, question is not SHOULD he sandbag this game (he should not), question is WILL he. Gus historically (and consistently) picks "target games" and all other, non-target games have an extremely high priority of not showing our offensive repertoire. Historically his Miss State game plans are shockingly vanilla, read: Malzahn rarely treats MSU - even when decent - as a "target game" (see esp 2013, 2018, etc) and it would be surprising if he did this year. Which IMHO will be a mistake.

Obviously people expressing doubt about whether the team is taking MSU seriously did not see his press conference yet.  Malzahn basically said that He and the returning players have a score to settle with MSU for being embarrassed by them last year.  There may be a let down game some point in the season but this ain't it.

All MSU has is Kylin Hill. And yes he’s really good. Maybe the best RB in the SEC. He’ll prolly get his 100 yards & 1-2 scores. Our run D is good enough to hold him under his average tho. The big difference is our O is busting at the seams. At home under the night lights...I see blowout. Big coming out party for Nix.

His dad’s big coming out party was 1994 MSU. We were only favored by 2.5 in that game. Won 42-18.

And even given the blowout as I predicted, why would it be a mistake? Meant to ask you before it happened, but given it actually did happen...why is it now a mistake?

How convenient you waited until after the game to post this.😆

How'd that prediction of Malzahn rarely treats MSU as a "target game" work out for you?
