The award is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding player in college football. The junior running back battled injuries early on in the season, even missing games against Clemson and Mercer, but since coming back against Missouri has taken college football by storm. Johnson has rushed for 723 yards in six games and is currently tied with Florida Atlantic’s Devin Singletary for the FBS lead in rushing touchdowns with 14 thus far.
