Football program with an incredibly consistent history of losing until the last 15 years.  Last undefeated season was 100 years ago.  What comes around goes around and has now come back around.  Chip Kelly proved that you cannot compete there without some sort of unfair advantage, say like Willie Lyles.

Some sports commentators made the point that this is a typical oregan team by their historical standards.  Their stadium is named after Rich Brooks who was 98 / 109 / 4.   Bellotti and Kelly made them good for 18 seasons.

Every team has a bad season(as we shall know), perhaps Oregon turned a corner in the 90s and started winning and they're going to try to continue that trend with whomever they decide to hire next. With Phil Knight at their disposal, there's no way they'll cheapen out on their next coach.

I just can't see them fading away to obscurity so quickly after being so good in these recent years.

Dropping off the radar.  They'll do everything in their power to stop the decline over the next few years, but those ducks are dead.

They just need to get another coach who will be on board with Knight buying his team and they will be back in it.

Yup, you never know . Chip Kelly was in New Hampshire or some remote place like that when Oregon found him . Who knows, they might get lucky again but the odds are against them . As Realist  noted, they probably revert to their norm.
