Discussion continues with umpires, Clint Myers and NCAA Rules advisor. The game is under protest by Auburn coaches because they want to drag the field and apparently the opposing coaches don't have an issue at all. The problem apparently is the umpires refusing to allow Auburn to drag the field. Apparently they only want to drap the field for a few seconds around 1st and 3rd base.

Umpires have denied Auburn request to drag the field. Auburn coaches are not happy but team takes the field to begin the 5th.

We had a 10 minute delay to discuss doing something that would have taken less than a third of that time, only to be told no we can't do it. Sometimes common sense needs to be in play in situations like these. James Madison coaches had no problem with them dragging the field. It was all on the umpires.
