@ESPNRittenburg Shoop has turned down an opportunity to discuss the AU DC job...not good!

Not sure why people are so quick to jump to the "not good" side of things when they know nothing about where the process is.

Not good.

Rivals reporting the Gus "DC search" is now focused on someone at another SEC school. The rest is the, not allowed to discuss pay stuff.

Auburn's search for a new defensive coordinator has led Gus Malzahn to another Southeastern Conference outpost. Which one? Let's discuss! [premium.gifdetails]

I threw Tucker's name out awhile ago, I hope we get him so we may want to whisper his name. He is to good to be only a position coach. He runs a 3-4, has good NFL experience, and can coach dbs... That's what we are looking for. The downside is he may head back to the NFL after awhile, but we can't not hire someone because we fear they may leave.

Twitter folks are saying that Manny Diaz was what the rivals article was talking about. Lot of chatter that he may have been the one to initiate talks.

Don't want Diaz. I would rather promote Garner or Thompson than Diaz

Why? His defense's linebacker play has been incredible.

I doubt if that article even have a new candidate in it. Well go ahead and buy it so you can read Tom Allen or Stoops name mentioned again.

Join the crowd.

Diaz is already doing well as DC in the SEC but you want to promote somebody like Garner... LMAO

Any idea why he would initiate talks? Wasn't he terrible at Texas when he was the DC?

I don't remember his defenses at Texas. I remembered his Louisiana Tech defense flew to the ball against us though.
