If Thompson is not made the DC, is he expected to stay out leave?

I can't see why he would leave unless it was a job offer elsewhere or the new DC would bring in one of his own. I don't think his job is in jeopardy as it stands right now.

would he leave due to being passed over as the new DC?

He's been with us a season. Surely he doesn't think that highly of himself.

Or as TexasTiger wrote, depends on his ego and offers. ;)

Probably as home run as we could get. There are a few others out there that are better, but who knows what it would take to get them, if it is even possible.
