San Diego State - Rocky Long (Also HC and unlikely to take a demotion)

Georgia - Jeremy Pruitt (will not be retained)

Missouri - Barry Odom (Just got promoted to HC)

Ohio State - Chris Ash (Rutgers new HC)

Will someone tell me, other than not having DC experience, why Thompson wouldn't be a good DC? Has worked under great defensive minds, wants the job, and we keep talking about consistency. I'm just curious on everyone's thoughts.

Thompson may be the only choice. If Gus had more than one year maybe we would have a chance at building a new defensive system, but Gus has to think short term and take care of himself.

Shannon will not have time to assemble a great staff. Gus is one and done unless we win at least 9 regular season games next year including a win against uga or spuat.
