Who ever comes, they must know that it's gonna be for 1 year only. Unless the offense gets back on track by winning more than 6 or 7 games and we beat bammer, Malzahn is history.

A one year deal will not be attractive to most coaches, unless they are looking to move on at season's end.

Choices:

1) Rodney Garner - Don't think so

2) Charles Kelly FSU - Why would he leave FSU for a possible dead end job at AU?

3) Jack Curtis Georgia Southern; - Don't know much about him

Barry Odom Missouri (excellent recruiter for Memphis/Missouri area); Named HC at Missouri, ain't coming to AU as DC.

Todd Grantham (I'm sure everyone will shoot me for suggesting his name) - Hahaha!!

As far as CK: money (he's paid about $500K, we're paying TRob north of $300K and we whipped out $1.7mil for the Muschamp circus); SEC>ACC for career choice, esp. if he aspires to hc; Alabama is home to him (remote want/need at best for him I'm sure); having played for AU he'd be given almost unequalled support. AU would give him the support unlike elsewhere. He'd have a challenge but if he succeeded it would be a MAJOR career feather in his cap and make his next goals easier.

Oh, and Grantham....don't blame you. He's produced but I'm not fired up about him either.

These days that could mean most anyone, but you make a valid point considering where we are and have been since the middle of last season.

This is not a given. Certainly possible, but 2015 could have been an eight win year easily. With an offense capable of scoring 30 per game it probably would have been 9 or 10 blowing out UGA in the process.

This should be interesting. Obviously there is more to the story if Travarious is leaving and we didn't offer.

Here's a name. How about Gibbs? He's done really well for himself since leaving Auburn. I'd love to see him back. I'm also curious as to who our legitimate choices are. Garner would be a disappointing promotion in my book and all of this talk of Veneables and others already established at winning programs is just ridiculous. Who are our realistic candidates?

I was in favor of RS when we were considering Muschamp. Since then I learned he has a lot of personal baggage. Sorry, can't remember what it was. For a long time his major baggage was the financial carry over from Miami. Guess that part is resolved.

Sorry. Nothing too solid but a lot of comments. He's an Alum and from Ozark. I think I saw it mentioned that he was on Gus' radar last year.
