good!

Although, we already knew what happened. It was widely known he knocked his fiancee out and then dragged her lifeless body out of the elevator. I don't like this new wave of outrage though in connection with the second video. What the hell did people think it was going to look like?

NFL Ray Rice is being reported to be cut from the Ravens and his contract terminated.

They caught a lot of flak for the way they handled this situation. Also the fans cheered him when he came to practice. Makes them look bad. This is a PR move.

Regardless, it's the right move.

Oh I don't disagree with the move. It's just that it took a big PR hit to get them to do the right thing.

Why is this video just now coming out? I mean we see the video of him dragging her out of the elevator and weeks later the one that tells the tell surfaces? Will be interesting to see if she stays by his side now.

She married him two wks later. The real question is will she be with him since he's not playing right now, or maybe worse career ending

He will be out for a while, maybe even this season, but he will not be out permanently.

Colin Cowherd said the casino he was in was going out of business and they sold the video. I was wondering why it wasn't out earlier considering most elevators have cameras. I think the way he treated her body after he knocked her out says more about him than the punch did. Im glad he's cut, hope he gets it together and plays in canada.

In my experience this is one of the big differences between NFL fans and college football fans. Seems college fans are more concerned with class where some NFL fans are not. I was taken aback when I went to a pro game and a bunch of people around me stood up and cheered when an opponent got injured.

And I agree about this being a PR move. Wreaks of damage control.

WDE!

I never will forget when Philly fans booed Santa Claus and threw snowballs.

Here is something people need to realize. The NFL has policies and a union, Goodell can't just make this up as he goes.

If Goodell views the elevator tape then Rice is serving a 6 game suspension right now.

The indefinite suspension is because he lied during a investigation. No policy for that, no union screaming in his defense. The fact that they chose to interview him instead of collecting the tape is what has cost him his career. The tape just confirmed the lie for them. They are not going to state that publicly because the punch is what everyone is focused on but it's the lie that got him.

He might have.

ruh roh. I have no love for TMZ. Frankly I can't stand them but if they could get the video from the casino, I'm sure the NFL could have as well.

There are conflicting reports that the NFL got and saw the second video.

That said, a private organization is not suppose in investigate a criminal act that it employee committed outside work. Law enforcement does that. Companies just don't go after that information on their own and if the owner of the video was asked they would normally say no. Most companies turn over video only under a court order.

TMZ is a tabloid outfit that pays or bribes to get info. The NFL should only look at that video if it is made public or provided through the police or courts. People asking how TMZ got the tape and the NFL didn't go after it are clueless.

Would you want your employer going to a another business and asking for a video of you possibly committing some illegal act at that business?

The press doesn't care much about rice, they are going after the NFL and it's out of control thug culture.

I wouldn't want them to if it were me but what I want doesn't matter. They still have the responsibility to ensure that their employees live up to the standards of conduct they have regardless of it rises to the level of criminal liability. They have the ability and authority to go talk to anyone they want to gather all the information they need for their purposes. They do not need to wait for the police or other law enforcement authorities to do anything before taking action. Their judgement is an entirely separate thing from what happens legally. They can punish him even if the law does not. They failed miserably all the way around on this one. When Goodell suspended Sean Peyton he said ignorance was not a viable excuse. If it applies to coaches it applies to the Commissioner.
