"Running Back U"

Okay. I'm out. No one has ever included QBs in the common discussion of RBU, and they shouldn't.

Not even if said quarterback rushes for more yards than any Heisman winner in 10 years? :poke:

Not really fair since Mark Ingram is the only running back in that time period, and Cam had more rushing touchdowns too.

Cam, as a QB, had the ability to fake a pass to keep the defenders in their passing lanes and then take off for rushing yards. When Mark Ingram had the ball, all he could do is run.... and defenders were gunning to knock his block off from the start. So, its not really fair to the runningbacks to include quaterbacks in top running back statistics.

If a running back recieves the ball in a lateral or a handoff behind the quarterback, he technically is still a threat to throw the ball. Although it is not generally expected, it is still a technicality

Cadillac Williams was one of the best QB's we've ever had!

And Cam is one of the best receivers. He has the same number of touchdown receptions that he does of total receptions.

And Nick Marshall completed a pass to himself. THAT is a pretty good trick.

Pretty good. He also ran with it after he did so. I think we've discovered the magic of the Malzahn offense -- the reason no one can figure out who'd going to get the ball is because we don't differentiate between RB, QB, or WR.

From now on, I'm going to claim the titles of QBU and WRU, too!

While it is not measured this way by most statisticians, Cam Newton was most assuredly a running back.

Malzahn ran formations and plays with two REAL RBs and a FB in 2010

If Cam is assuredly a back, that's four backs in the backfield, a penalty.

Are you saying every running play, Auburn should've had a penalty?

Well 4 backs in the backfield isn't a penalty because that leaves 7 on the line which is what the real requirement is. 5 would be a penalty not four.
