Does anyone know how many this makes that have been medically disqualified during saban's tenure at bama? Does anyone know how many of those he has medically disqualified were starters or were projected to contribute significant playing time?

So, saban strikes again.

Caleb Gulledge was medically disqualified after spring practice, Alabama coach Nick Saban divulged Sunday morning.

One day after it was noted that the redshirt freshman offensive lineman is not on Alabama's 105-man roster for preseason camp, Saban said Gulledge was suffering from a "chronic medical issue."

Because the roster decision was made months ago, Saban said he "just forgot" to mention it Friday at his first preseason press conference.

Gulledge came to Alabama in 2012 after starring at Prattville High School.

"He did a good job for us," Saban said. "He's going to be in school here. He's got a chance to graduate, and we're going to be very supportive of him."

It's Bear Bryant all over again. Sign the kid because you don't want him to go somewhere else, then let him ride the pine or in this case, have him branded as medically ineligible. Either way, he won't play elsewhere....

This will continue until the players at Prattville, Oxford, the Mobile area, etc. all realize that Saban does not have their best interests at heart, but his own interests. So many of these kids could have signed with numerous other schools, and lived their dream of playing college football, and maybe made a career in the NFL, CFL, Arena League, etc. But because Saban didn't want them signing with Auburn, TN, or other schools he may have to face, he fed them a line of BS, signed them, then "legally" cut them to make room for higher-star players. The REC then steps in, hands over some cash or a promise of a job to the kid or his family, and everything is swept under the rug.

It's really sad what the NCAA is doing to college football by letting bammer run this sport. I can guarantee you will not see anything done to UAt until after weeman leaves. When he takes another job, you will know that the hammer is about to fall in Turdville.
