Maybe I've just missed it in years past but I can't remember this many guys being in and out of the critical, yet tiny window that is Spring practice for "personal reasons". Can't those be ironed out before or after this small, important period? Holland's class schedule conflicts are just odd too.

I agree and would also be easily persuaded to believe it was more serious than a small issue that will be easily remedied.

Auburn players sported the "AU" on their helmets Friday for the first time this spring as the Tigers prepare for Saturday's 1 p.m. A-Day Game in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

"Johnson says linebackers are too heavy, thinks some of the players lose the ability to drop their hips, change direction." It's the end of the world! Our lb's are too big!

Yah, lol, but the key word is "some" and you can tell who he is referring to from past pics.

On the "personal reasons" front, didn't I read that Therezie's girl just had a baby? If that's correct, he came back faster than I would've. I know I saw on some twitter feed from one of the beat reporters that he was out to be there for the birth of his child. Assuming it's accurate, I'm going to chalk that up to "legit reason for being absent."

Also, if true, congrats to Robenson! Most important and enjoyable job you'll ever have!

Doesn't looks like anybody wants to nail down the LG position.

Don't make a story out of straw. They are students first and football players second. If you can't be a student you won't be a football player.

There was a story that said Holland is graduating this semester and that there was one required course for his degree and it was only offered when it is and that created the conflict.

Ellis Johnson: CB Joshua Holsey's double-training at safety, because Trent Fisher's got an ankle injury. Not sure how much he'll play A-Day.

...

Johnson says McNeal has some "off-the-field things to clear up ... he's day-to-day"

...

Johnson: offense and defense will be on separate sidelines, divided into first- and second-units. Plan is 1s vs. 2s and 2s vs. 1s, early.

...

Coaches want each player to get between 15 and 30 reps.

...

Johnson: "Every practice we play full speed with pads on is an evaluation day." Says coaches are "80 percent" sure of depth chart.

...

Johnson wants more depth at safety, wants to put his finger on the top two linebackers, and who's going to rush the passer.

...

Johnson feels the defense is "in pretty good shape" with health, other than Keymiya Harrell.

...

EJ: "Justin Garrett's been the best player we've had on defense. He's made as many impact plays as anybody ... this one was the right move."

...

Johnson on Ford: "Dee's had a good spring. He's had to play all techniques."
