i believe kiehl frazier comes back with a vengeance...

last year was the perfect storm for auburn tiger football. the shooting deaths. the fact some auburn players felt a certain member or two should have been removed from the team for their (supposed) role in the altercation that led to the shooting. take a new o coordinator who was not allowed to do little on his own without the interference of other coaches( if you do not have complete trust in your o guy you create distrust). players see that. take a new d guy who was probaly decent except his d is very complicated and hard to learn right? then you add in the supposed division between some on the coaching staff. it was the perfect storm. and who in the world really knows what happened with strength and conditioning. folks we set ourselves up to fail, period.

now you hire a coach that already has players recruited to play in his system. he is considered a miracle worker with qb's. his motto is fast and physical. add possibly a couple of coaches that are supposed to be better than some of the old staff. also add in a new way of doing things and some pretty grueling winter workouts. how many kids want to bust their ass for failure?none i know of so i think it might be safe to say we get some much needed swagger back.i have already seen baby steps.

i think keihl is busting at the bits to show the world how good of a qb he really is after he was put in a situation for failure like last year. now take our miracle worker and turn him lose with our qb's. if our o line improves ( could it get much worse?) we will see kiehl show folks what he can really do. and i have read a million times where kiehl was born to run this o.

all things considered i believe we have a winning record and go bowling.

and last but not least. these are my opinions guys and i am no expert so try to go light on the bashing will you?

TL, DR...however, Im pulling for Kiehl Frazier. In fact Im pulling for all the QBs doing their best to win the job. Personally, I dont thnk the position will be settled til Nick Marshall has a fair shot at it along with JJ and JS, although, I do not expect a true freshman to make a serious run at it

Who did they think needed to be removed from the team? First time I am hearing of that personally. Very intriguing.

I think Nick Marshall wins the starting job with JW in second, KF in third, and JJ taking a red shirt

Yep..same way is see it going as well.

one of the fellows was a receiver who was involved in the argument. i believe last year was his last year on the plains. never did much. and this came from a supposed player tweet that was posted on one of the boards.i do not tweet so take it for what its worth. but it does make sense. IF it is true that would explain why we fell apart as bad as we did. or helped to...........

This. For the guy asking the question, think of a heralded WR recruit from the state of LA that was a part of Chizik's 1st class who never panned out, but whom our former WR coach always talked up.

I hope the best man wins the job. Frazier will be a junior this season, so it may be now or never for him. Otherwise, he may be Kodi Burns Part II. That's not a knock on either one of the guys....things just didn't work out for Kodi but he was a stand-up guy and the team rallied around him in 2009. We'll see if Kiehl's story turns out differently. After the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, Gus was pretty certain that Frazier would have been his QB in 2012 had he not left for ASU. With Frazier's problems last season, there's probably some doubt in CGM's mind, so he recruited Nick Marshall.

i was intensly interested in the shooting. I heard about it on the web within moments of it happening. "Eye witness" accounts hit twitter and message boards immediately and I read a ton of it. (Of course you have to assume that a couple of the guys that said they were there and witnessed the initial happenings were telling the truth). I am generally suspect of those kinds of accounts but these guys were descriptive, still there at the scene (or inside their apartment) within 30-45 minutes after the shooting.

If those stories are true then I believe they had an impact on the team chemistry leading up to and through the season - possibly a large impact.

another point about the shooting was it was told that most of our football team was there instead of the dozen or so most thought were there. if so it would have a much larger impact on out players that we normally thought. or thats my way of thinking. you know a lot of kids try to excell in sports to get away from that very thing that happened......

the thing i have not heard anyone compliment kf on is he took his lumps last year and never uttered one word of complaint. that goes a long way with me. unless he was pretty much ruined last year i do noit think any but the jr college qb transfer will give him a good run. but of course i will be behind whomever gets the job.

i could see a scenario where any of KF, NM, or Wallace could end up taking the spot. johnson and smith will be freshmen and that is just typically to high a mountain to climb.

Again, can we stop using the shootings as an excuse for last year? 2011 Alabama and 2007 Virginia Tech say hi.

I dont get your point. How many players or former players lost their lives at bama or VT?

Fair, it's the truth, no need to dance around it. The best man to emerge of those three wins it. JJ and JS maybe if they were already on campus. It's only fifteen practices, that isn't the kicker. It's the past year for KF and JW and the past two for NM. Even though he only spent one year as a QB since HS he has the time at thUGA where I am really hoping he grew up mentally enough to allow his physical gifts to mature. If so it will come down to Kiehl's experience in the offense and the repitition along with being a great athlete vs. Nick's being familiar with the offense enough (Played QB in a run -n- gun offense in HS and JUCO) and has the year of DB at thUGA and is a total freak of an athlete. Should be fun.

mr marshall threw for 25 interceptions and i feel he is more seasoned than kiehl. honest tho... i am pretty confident coach mal developes a winner. his track record seems to say so and he has worked magic at auburn before.

i've got bad news for frazier ... my gut instinct says that KF pulls it all together this year and becomes a presence in sec football. unfortunately for him, i am the single worst luck for any person alive. if i lived in vegas, they would make me the casino cooler ...

not an excuse, but one piece of the complicated puzzle that was last season. with young people, it could have been a bigger piece than some could realize. alabama and vt are not good parallels to this incident, imo.

AMEN! Many factors contributed to our horrible season. Just leave it at that.
