You can make phone calls and send e-mails during a dead period.  The only things prohibited are in-person contacts on and off campus and coaches going off-campus to evaluate a PSA.

If that's it, Jonesy, GREAT, since Whitehead can play both sides of the ball.  Would rather an extra OT, but if not that, good DB's are hard to get.  So let's get them both!

I thought he just verbally committed yesterday. What happened?

Well he was qouted from gatorbait site saying that he wasnt 100% commited to AU after the commitment yesterday.  From what people in the know are saying, our coaches are tired of the games and have told him we are moving on and will not be taking his commitment now.  Sucks for us, but JW will take his place hopefully..

Why does it suck for AU?  Its not like he's the best DB to every play the game.  If he can't commit to AU at this point, we need to move on.  He may be a great DB, but there are others out there who can do what AU needs.  I hope we get Whitehead, I have wanted him all along anyway.
