  1. I never said Harsin has to kiss ass. I said he should know the boosters and he should've already laid out his plan for Auburn football. Tell them what you need as the HC in terms of manpower, facilities, shadow staff, technological upgrades, etc. Maybe take a minute to show a little gratitude for what those $$ people have already done for Auburn Athletics? Having the initiative to get to know the people behind the scenes that can financially make or break your sports program is a wise plan of action. Example: You have to make a last minute recruiting visit to close on a top 5* prospect. You need be able to make a phone call and a booster's private jet is at your disposal with no questions asked no issues whatsoever.
  2. People wonder why guys want to coach for him and why players line up to play for him and I wonder why not? You'll get coached on How To Coach and players get top development, training and coaching in that operation.
  3. Why is Jimmy Rane front and center in this discussion anyway? He vehemently claimed he had no knowledge or involvement with the CBH investigation. ❓
  4. He hurt some feelings though and the coaches and players aired their grievances to Auburn admin resulting in an investigation. Someone inside the AD purposefully leaked the investigation > social media started salacious rumors > Auburn beat writers ran wild and Philip Marshal in particular guaranteed Brian Harsin was g-o-n-e! I honestly think CBH was too hard-core and he likely didn't take anyone's feelings into the equation when he lit into them after losing 5 straight games in inexcusable fashion. NOW we have a situation where Harsin has been accused of not properly selling his program to the $$ folks at Auburn and it's been said he does not have a sense of urgency or place priority on recruiting, which is troubling IMO. He has to meet and greet people that pour millions into Auburn football IF he wants to succeed. He has to understand that He has to sell Auburn to recruits and he may have to babysit the 4-5*'s and he has to sell his program 365 days a year IF he wants to be successful.
  5. Well, it's up to CBH to push something (anything) positive our way. He has a great opportunity to sell the program to some really talented kids who will be visiting for Big Cat and if he gets a few great commits the narrative will change.
  6. I agree, and better scheme behind a veteran oline should allow him to shine this season. He'll need help from his TE's & RB's but I think he can have a much better year here than he had at aTm.
  7. We're going to need a solid run game this year because Calzada will be a lot like Stidham (elite arm strength on certain throws) he'll need the run game to relieve the pressure of feeling like he has to shoulder the load all by himself. I think the few new starters on the oline with the rest super seniors and another year in the system under Friend will bode well for online execution. Those guys will hopefully be a bright spot - Lord knows they've all worked hard for years, have been loyal to AU and deserve some praise.
  8. It's possible. I responded to Carnell's assertion that the GM may be looking for coaches in the Saban price range and not bargain basement type guys. The GM is accustomed to an organization with plenty of $$. If recent news is to be believed (as mentioned by Red) Auburn is bargain basement with their recruiting budget compared to our rivals, NIL is still struggling and massively unorganized. Who knows if the PTB and $$ people will be willing to pay 2 coaching staff's to not coach here + add an expensive (Saban priced) coaching staff in the near future?
  9. Rednilla's recent thread in the Eagles Nest paints a bleak picture. The new GM is used to having Jerry Jones level of $$ and that is not what he'll have at Auburn.
  10. Some folks believe AD Greene's continued employment at Auburn is tied directly to Harsin's success or failure.
  11. Bo ran himself off and he landed exactly where he needs to be, with Dillingham & the Ducks. I believe Calzada is a more coachable player and once he gets his decision making tuned in & gets better control of his throws he'll be fine. Prayers sent he has a solid oline to work behind and a stout run game to take the pressure off this season.
  12. I'm confused (not surprisingly - lol) Do you mean a student-athlete would seek a restraining order against the NCAA? The NCAA is made up of member institutions, so no member of the NCAA is going to seek a restraining order against themselves.
  13. Auburn can be the poster child of NCAA compliance and avoid their dangerous venom if they choose. We'll just have to see how our athletic programs compete vs the likes of aTm/Miami/Tenn/Texas/USC/uat/uga/FSU/OSU as they stack their rosters with the nations top players and rape the transfer portal for talent every year. The NCAA needs to show some action if they want to be taken seriously. Their rules are ignored by most programs and as long as they let crap like LSU (Will Wade) run on for years with no verdict or punishment of any kind, they'll continue to be ignored.
  14. Yep - there's no love lost for CGM and most folks that come across as Gus lovers really had hoped that after spending +$30MM for a coaching change we'd have seen exponentially better results both on and off the field after 18 months. IMO, I'm ready to give CBH & his crew another 18 months to work and then evaluate him after 3 full yrs on the job.
  15. Bullcrap! They've had very little success in the portal and dang sure shouldn't wait around relying on an unknown portal player to come available. Make hay now - go after Parsons hard.
  16. The man was stubborn to a fault, even after running through a string of OC's who could've easily helped him evolve, make a few changes and update his offensive philosophy.
  17. No one should lose sight of the few bright spots in CGM's tenure and we can't erase his deficiencies either. Here's to better days ahead with Auburn getting back among the top of the heap in this conference.
  18. The NCAA moves at a glacial pace. They were caught with their pants down when the SCOTUS ruled on NIL, Emmert has been forced into retirement and completely muted. They've done nothing to regulate this wide open transfer portal, WHY? It would curb the tampering & NIL bidding wars we saw recently. Instead they removed the annual scholarship cap, now teams can sign as many as they can take up to the 85 man roster. Their rules are the same relative to a booster's involvement in the recruiting process, they simply tried to reiterate their existing rule and schools are ignoring it. They won't even attempt go after a program that's been flagrantly bidding on recruits because most of the big time NIL collectives are made up of attorneys, i.e. aTm/Miami/Texas.
  19. Tit for Tat, Auburn should go after him.
  20. CBH started out with seasoned SEC coaches/assistants and I thought at the time it was great. His initial staff had years of SEC/recruiting experience with Mason as a former SEC HC and Friend/Bobo the SEC territories. We'll see if these Boise guys can do better real soon.
  21. FOUR (4) yrs to build from the foundation up to a championship level SEC program. IF this crew can't get it done with in the current landscape of the unlimited Wild West NIL and a wide open transfer portal then Auburn needs to cut bait.
  22. What does an opposing coach actually say to a prospect to paint a negative view of Auburn? As sad as it is, all an opposing coach has to do is point to the headlines in February & the last 5 games of the '21 season. There's not need to utter a single word or try to plant doubt in a recruits head about the status of the Auburn program. 🤢
  23. Mack Brown encouraged a recruit to commit to another school for the NIL money: 'You ought to take it' The NIL is changing everything in the world of college football recruiting. The money being …
  24. Look at the positives, she's had a hell of a time with Bruce & his bunch.
